About The Institute For Career Management
The company is 100% Black owned and managed and was formed in 1994 when the founding members saw a need to set up a credible and recognized IT education and training services company targeting mainly previously disadvantaged individuals (PDI’s). For this purpose, the Institute for Career Management (Pty) Ltd, then called MD Goba and Associates, acquired the National Computer College franchise late in 1994 and then started trading as National Computer College-Johannesburg Central.
The College was sold in 2000. The founding members and associates are experienced academics, professionals, and business people who share a common vision with regard to national skills development. Today the company focuses on the facilitation of National Skills Development as envisaged by the National Skills Development Strategy (NSDS).
ICM-Institute for Career Management operated as an Employment and Skills Development Agency (ESDA), an agency appointed and registered (Registration Number: Mo 9/7/15/3/GP/22) by the Department of Labour in terms of regulation 3(4) of Learnership Regulations 2001. ESDAs were created to co-ordinate and manage the implementation of skills development projects throughout the country. ICM was awarded the status of an MICT (then called ISETT Seta) based ESDA and worked with this Seta from 2004 to 2012.

Our company holds institutional accreditations with the ETDP SETA Accreditation Number: ETDP 10162. Through extension of scope the company is also accredited with the Local Government Seta (LG SETA) Accreditation Number: LGRS-ETDP-510100730.
In addition to our accreditations, we are dedicated to empowering individuals through cutting-edge Information and Communication Technology(ICT) training. Our commitment is to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the dynamic world of technology. We have accredited qualifications and programs which are offered through an MOU with the Institute of Health and Social Care Studies which is fully accredited with MICT SETA (Accreditation Number:LPA/00/2019/07/0006).
